The local rule
Thunder Bay says the City is responsible for maintaining trees on municipal property and that public-tree removal is considered when condition or safety warrants it.
The City’s current urban-forestry review identifies its Urban Forest Management Plan and Tree By-law as the main municipal tree-policy documents; homeowners should confirm whether a particular tree is municipal or private before arranging work.
