Municipalities can require a qualified arborist to document health, structural condition, construction impact or the feasibility of retaining a tree.
What to check.
The correct report depends on the local application. A contractor quote or statement that a tree “looks dead” is not necessarily the same evidence the municipality requires.
Why there is no national yes/no answer.
